The Ron Sattler Memorial Bass Competition
The 2012 Ron Sattler Memorial Bass Competition was unfortunately cancelled owing to high river levels and road works in the area. The 2013 competition will be held in the third week of February. We hope you might make it along.
The 2011 winner for the longest bass went to Peter Lees with a 52cm beauty.
Peter's lures are available at the Lodge together with Bassman spinnerbaits, originally made by Ron Sattler at the Lodge

Bass lodge provides accommodation for up to 12 guests in a unique craftsman built cedar timber lodging featuring:-
- Huge covered front deck over-looking the Macleay River
- Wilderness views - no neighbours in sight of the Lodge

- Landscaped gardens from river rocks
- BBQ and cooking facilities/utensils
- 4 large bedrooms and separate sleeping area, comprising a total of 5 Queen mattresses and 5 single mattresses
Visitors will find Bass Lodge a unique and unforgettable location and a place to relax away from life’s normal demands. Relax and enjoy the river, fresh and clear streams, wildlife, mountains and valleys. Fishermen whether experienced or novices will revel in the marvellous natural environment of one of Australia’s most exiting sports fish, Australian Bass.
Adventure tours are also at your disposal encompassing some of the regions unique and rugged gorge country, rivers, trout hatchery and the nearby Point Lookout with spectacular views across the Macleay valley to the coast.

Those seeking the quieter life will find tranquillity in the abundance of walking trails, canoeing and the magnificent array of local bird life and rarely seen native animals including the platypus. Ask us where and how to spot them!
